To See & Do at the Portuguese Silvercoast

A picturesque castle town is just a 20-minute drive away (UNESCO World heritage). For a smal snack, you can go to bar IBN Errik Rex where thin chorizo sausages are flambéed in an earthenware dish and served with cheese cubes and local bread. If the day is not over yet, drive to the lagoa de Obidos - beach / promenade. 

There is an adventurous dinosaur park, for children up to 13/14 years old, in just 35-minute. And it is even more fun in combination with a visit to the beach Baleal on the way back. 

A cathedral named battle, Batalha, was the gift of the king to the people after winning the war with Spain. If not won Portugal would have spoken spanish. It has the manueline style with lot's of exotic images, showing the travels the portuguese have made. The grave of the unknown soldier is also there garded by two soldiers with a funny walk.

The historic fishing village of Nazaré, is now a very popular beach in Portugal. It became a worldwide phenomenon after the McNamara effect. On November 1st 2011, the Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara surfed a 78 feet (23,77 meters) wave during the ZON North Canyon Show in Praia do Norte beach, in Nazaré! Since then, Nazaré - or as the surfers call it, "Naza" - has caught the world's attention and is now known for its Big Waves.

Portugal has a whole city that has risen according to an esoteric plan. It is the city of Tomar, designed by Gualdim Pais, the most famous master of the Order of the Temple. Founded in 1160, Tomar was conceived according to the archetype of an initiating mentality, as the Polis, the Acropolis and the Pantheon. Within a 25-minute drive, you are on this child-friendly beach and a calm bay. You can also eat delicious pizza at Restaurant Portobello and then an ice cream at Gelatomania. Every summer there is also an inflatable island with bouncy castles and slides, jet skis, pedal boats etc.  

A 20 minutes drive and you can run as fast as you can from Portugal's highest sand dune and then walk to the chapel at Salir do Porto, the oldest building nearby Caldas da Rainha. In 30 minutes, you can learn about making salt as the romans did since 1185. And have for lunch the tastiest grilled chicken you ever had!-

The buddha eden park is just 40 minutes from the quinta. There you can stroll around and feel like you are in Asia. If you don't feel like walking, you can take a train through the park full of buddhas, pagodas, modern art and African art. 

Definitely one of the enchanting and unique coastal destinations of Center of Portugal, is the fishing city of Peniche. It is a world acclaimed surf spot, but also an inviting destination for families or solo travellers, as well as bird-watching and geology fans.
